Una silueta en blanco y negro de la que emerge una mariposa de neón verde — la transformación capturada en luz, un momento de cambio eterno. Pero la mariposa no es un símbolo cualquiera: es un homenaje a Las Mariposas, las heroínas de la patria dominicana.

Patria, Minerva y María Teresa Mirabal — conocidas en la clandestinidad como Las Mariposas — se opusieron con valentía a la dictadura de Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. Fundadoras y parte del Movimiento Revolucionario 14 de Junio, fueron encarceladas y torturadas, pero jamás dejaron de luchar. El 25 de noviembre de 1960 fueron asesinadas por orden del régimen. Su sacrificio encendió la chispa que ayudaría a derrocar la tiranía.

Hoy son símbolo eterno de resistencia, dignidad y coraje. En su honor, cada 25 de noviembre el mundo conmemora el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer. Esta obra transforma esa memoria en luz: de la oscuridad, emerge la mariposa.
